Tax revenue stamps are much more than brand value and customer satisfaction

A study was done in 2005 that revealed there was a major growth in revenue in the states that were using holographic stamps than ones that were not using them. Amongst the highest selling commodities in India, liquor and cigarettes are at the first rank. These are the commodities that generate the highest of the tax revenue and are also most prone to counterfeiting and duplicity. When few states started using holographic tax stamps in the early 2000s, those states witnessed an exponential growth in tax revenue without having to increase the price of the liquor. This also led to a higher number of purchases and in turn generated even more revenue. So, if these commodities are being counterfeited that only means the government revenues are minimised, which will not reflect well in the market and it’s the common masses that suffer the most.

Why do you need holographic revenue stamps?

Holographic tax/revenue stamps developed by Holostik are crucial in the battle against counterfeits. These small and deceptively weak strips of holographic technology keep the sale of counterfeits in check and enhance the government revenue. It protects the excise duty imposed on any products like tobacco and alcohol, which reflects growth in fiscal income and reduction in the sale of untaxed or smuggled goods.

Advantages of holographic tax stamps:

  • Immediate authentication becomes easier.
  • Keeps the important data safe from alteration.
  • Reduces the consumption of counterfeit, smuggled, duplicate or untaxed items.
Holostik’s holographic tax stamps are an amalgamation of various technologies:
These tax stamps are an amalgamation of various technologies that make them even more secure and there is more than one way to check the authenticity of the product. These technologies are then combined with strong product authentication, holographic and non-holographic features. These holographic tax stamps are customizable and can be tailored to customer-specific needs. The various technologies are:

UV Alpha Numeric Sequential Numbering :

A sequential numbers consisting of alphabets and numerical digits printed using Ultraviolet ink. It can be viewed only under Ultraviolet light.

2D Data Matrix Bar Code :

These seemingly nonsensical pattern made from squares or lines is used to store relevant or confidential data. It can be scanned to authenticate the product.

UV Invisible Image (Covert Feature) :

An image printed using Ultra Violet ink that can only be viewed under Ultra Violet Light.

Many counterfeiters are using advanced technologies now, they are even using Ultra Violet ink to make their imitations’ holographic tax stamps even more original. So, we need to have more security features other than Ultra Violet ink.

Ph Reactive Ink (Forensic) :

Ph reactive ink is used as a security feature and can be viewed only through an inspection pen. On viewing under the pen, the colour changes.

Micro Lettering Reverse (HIL) :

These letters are made in 65 microns and can be seen under a 50X magnifier only.

Holographic Strip :

This strip is made using holography and incorporates the name or the logo of the company.
