What and why the holographic hot stamping foil
Hot stamping has been around since the 19th century when it was a means to decorate a surface, especially plastic. Being a method of relief printing, it involves placing pre-dried foils or ink on the exterior under high temperatures. Hot stamping saw a rise in popularity and use after the 1970s as a decorative tool for plastics. However, hot stamping foil has applications beyond the decoration of surfaces, and a need for increased security unveiled the same. Holographic hot stamping foil came into the picture when a rise in counterfeiting and the lack of security against it garnered attention. They are hybrid stamps that combine both the advantages of holograms and stamping foil. The combination, thus, provides water-tight protection disabling replication and duplication of the stickers.
